Septo diffuseurs are used when land is at a premium and no other alternative can be installed, for what ever reason.
The principal of the septodeffuseur is to collect and pre treat the waste water from the exit pipe of the fosse septique, before passing into a much smaller version of a sand filter. You will require 1 septodeffuseur per person.
After a hole is dug, minimum depth of 90cm, it is lined with plastic. An exit pipe is put in to a regard ( man hole ) and run to a pre approved exit point. Eppandage pipe/s are then put on the bottom of the plastic and connected to the regard. Stones are then added, 10/20 washed, to cover the pipe/s and then covered with geogrill. (a netted material, to allow the treated water through but to retain the filtrant sand.
Next 50cms of FILTRANT sand is added, then the septodeffuseurs.
Eppandage pipes are then added on top to disperse the waste water, which are connected to a regard to allow even distribution through the septodiffuseurs.
They then are all covered with geotextile to prevent the surface soil from entering the treatment system and penetrating roots.
